Setting up Stripe
With a Stripe, you can list your products and accept payments on your Grid site.
Setting up your e-commerce store like this makes it easy to manage and edit your products, process refunds, and control everything from within Stripe.
Connecting a Stripe account
You will have to setup a Stripe Payments account before you can connect it to your Grid site, collect payments, process refunds, and finally get paid 💸You can register for an account here, and follow the instructions that will guide you through activating the account and connecting your bank.
With your Stripe account set up, you can now connect it under Sources > Connect With Stripe.
When you Stripe account is successfully connected, you'll see your company name under the Source settings.
Adding products to your site
Alright, with your account set up we can now add the products to our site and start taking payments!
If you don't already have any products in your Stripe account, you need to create one.
Creating a product in Stripe
Fortunately, it's easy and takes just a minute to add Name, Description, Price and Product Image. First we add the Name and Description and click Create Product. In this case, we'll create a copper lamp.
Once we've created it, we'll add the price to the lamp. In this case, we'll do $200 per unit.
Adding a Product Block in Grid
Now, we can simply add a Product block anywhere on our site and automagically pull the Name and Price right into the Block on our page.
Just pick the product you want to show a purchase button for and it will automagically appear.
This will create a link to the Stripe Checkout page where a customer can enter the credit card details securely and we can process their payment.
Now, if we suddenly want to change the description of our product, or the price, we can simply do it in Stripe and it will automagically update it across our entire website.
That's how to set up a Stripe connection to your Grid website. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out and ask for help, or simply to say hi 👋
